Fr. Aloysius Deeney, OCD
Fr. Aloysius Deeney, O.C.D. was born in Philadelphia in 1948, ordained a diocesan priest in Philadelphia in 1974, entered Carmel in 1983, and made profession as a Discalced Carmelite in 1984.
He studied Carmelite Spirituality in Avila, Spain.
He served as the Provincial of the Oklahoma Province from 1990-1998.
Following the General Chapter in Lisieux in 1997, Fr. Camilo Maccise (Fr. General at that time) brought Fr. Aloysius to Rome to be the Delegate of the General to the Secular Order..
He was reappointed for another six years at the General Chapter in Avila in 2003.
